Abstract
The paper discusses the actor-network theory (ANT) in the context of a post-essentialist thinking within media studies. It studies the similarities and differences between the models: dispositive, structure and actants network. It argues for a combination – and not a replacement – of ANT with already established models of micro-political media analysis and puts it to the test using the example of the remote control.
